Kannan, a charismatic but enigmatic man, arrives in Malaysia to escape a shadowy criminal past, adopting the alias “Bolt” Kannan. He moves with a cool confidence that draws people in, yet his past lingers like a badge he can’t quite shed. Soon he forges a casual friendship with Arivu, a ragpicker who pretends to be a wealthy businessman to impress his girlfriend, Kalpana, offering moments of comic relief amid the tension.

He then crosses paths with Rukku, a stubborn and resourceful young woman who refuses to back down. She works multiple odd jobs to reclaim her late parents’ house from her abusive stepfather, Rajadurai, a corrupt police officer whose grip on power spirals into danger. In the shadows of this family turmoil, Rajadurai extorts Preethi, coercing her into sex to stop the online posting of an intimate video, a threat that underscores the perilful choices people must navigate.

As romance blossoms between Kannan and Rukku, she finds herself squeezed by financial trouble and the precariousness of her job. To lift her burden, Kannan resolves to secure a loan of RM1,000,000, enlisting Arivu’s help for a plan that could change their fortunes. The trio ventures to a dockyard owned by Dharma, a ruthless loan shark who squints at debt as a weapon. At a bustling poker table, Kannan plays with astonishing skill, stacking win after win until Dharma himself steps in to challenge him. But Dharma’s table strategy is dirty—he rigs the game and seizes the advantage, leaving Kannan deeper in debt just as Rukku’s own financial crisis tightens its grip.

Driven to desperation, Kannan decides on a high-stakes heist: rob an armored truck delivering cash to the bank. The plan escalates into a harrowing pursuit, a clash with the police, and a brazen theft of RM20,000,000 (about US$4.8 million). In a twist of fate, a partial fingerprint ties Dharma to the crime, and a flashback reveals that Kannan had previously stolen Dharma’s gun from his club. Complicating matters, Kannan learns that he has also won RM20,000,000 in a lottery. With both fortunes in play, he and Arivu recruit Kalpana to help collect the lottery winnings discreetly, lest their identities be exposed in the chaos that follows.

The windfalls give Kannan the means to lavish attention on Rukku: he arranges a Rolls-Royce Phantom, buys her a new dress, and invites her to a hotel with the aim of stabilizing her life. Yet the danger isn’t over. He plans to settle Rukku’s debt by paying RM1,000,000 from his lottery haul to Rajadurai at the hotel. Rajadurai, however, recognizes Kannan as the man behind the bank heist—he had been wounded by Kannan’s gun-t went during the robbery—and his gaze reveals a chilling recognition. Rajadurai intends to keep the money, the house, and Rukku for himself, and he forces Kannan to deliver the rest to his house, setting the stage for a climactic confrontation.

Pursued by Dharma’s goons and driven by fear, Kannan and Arivu race through a web of threats as Dharma makes it clear he wants all the stolen money. Rukku discovers the stolen funds at Kannan’s flat and realizes Kalpana and Arivu were already aware of the truth. In a decisive turn, Kannan reveals to Rukku the private truth Rajadurai shared with him, adding to the tangled web of loyalties and deceit.

With calculated precision, Kannan orchestrates a master plan to trap both Dharma and Rajadurai. Kalpana is instructed to seduce Rajadurai at a pub, while Rukku goes to the police to report domestic abuse. In a final showdown at Rajadurai’s house, Kannan defeats Dharma and his henchmen, leaving them dead. Rajadurai returns to find the stolen money and limp bodies, only to be incapacitated by Kannan, who leaves with RM1,000,000, discarding half of the loot. Kalpana, in a careful move, places the rest of the money in Dharma’s vehicle, trying to shield the truth from prying eyes. Rukku returns home to find Rajadurai, triggers a siren-like gunshot moment on her phone to mislead the police, and the authorities arrive to shoot Rajadurai dead. The official report touts a scuffle between Dharma and Rajadurai, with all stolen money recovered.

In the aftermath, Kannan, Arivu, Rukku, and Kalpana celebrate their hard-won lottery windfalls, slipping back into the glow of their victories. Yet a final twist settles over the scene: Arivu learns that the real “Bolt” Kannan never actually arrived in Malaysia, realizing he has befriended a fraud. When he asks for Kannan’s real identity, Kannan simply smiles as the credits roll, leaving the question hanging and the audience with a lingering sense of mystery about the man who pulled the strings.
