In court, Yusuf recounts the events that led him to stab seven strangers on a busy street. Orphaned early and forced into poverty, he never attended school and turned to gambling to survive. Persistent injustice and repeated imprisonments crush his attempts at redemption, intertwining his fate with a former brothel‑worker seeking a respectable life.
