Set in the early 1980s after Argentina’s military dictatorship, a middle‑aged engineer returns from European exile and wanders the southern Pampas seeking work. He encounters Nadia the gun‑slinging psychic, Lem the traveling millionaire, Barante the hobo, and bankrupt circus owner Coluccini, who pulls him into a rigged card game. The film adapts Osvaldo Soriano’s 1990 novel.
