When Aunt Mirta wins a lottery and receives a sleek limousine she can’t drive herself, distant relatives suddenly rush in, claiming to help but really hoping to inherit the car after her death. The neighboring peasant family, who has always cared for her selflessly, becomes the object of petty jealousy. The story satirically portrays greedy human nature and Soviet‑era everyday life, while Mirta, still sharp‑witted, leaves a surprising final will that decides who will finally own the midnight‑blue limousine.
