Following her grandmother’s death, an art teacher returns to her childhood home and confronts difficult memories of her past. As she reflects on her youth, she becomes aware of her country’s complex and fractured history. Through a long-standing performance art project involving her students, a powerful portrait of the island’s collective memory begins to surface. This process encourages Taiwan to reclaim its identity and construct a new postcolonial narrative through art.
