Three escorts transport a large shipment of new one‑hundred‑crown banknotes in a specially armored railway car. At the 196th kilometre a village girl waiting at a crossing sees two men removing packages from the track; a gunshot instantly kills her. Five kilometres later the train detonates, leaving only escort Lenk (Radoslav Brzobohatý) alive and gravely injured. Criminologist Major Kalas (Jirí Sovák) and young Second Lieutenant Karlícek (Jaromír Hanzlík) assemble evidence and testimonies to solve the case.
