In the forest near the village of Drahovice a local health‑center nurse is found slain. Three months earlier another young woman was murdered nearby, a sexual motive having been established. The nurse’s killing lacks a clear motive. Prague criminologists Major Kalas (Rudolf Hrusínský) and Lieutenant Varga (Radoslav Brzobohatý) painstakingly gather leads and question the villagers.
