Jean-Marc drifts through a disjointed Montreal, ignored by his wife and children while working apathetically as a mid‑level government clerk. His fantasies of sexual conquest contrast with the genuine care he feels for his ailing mother. After his wife abruptly leaves for a job in Toronto, he attempts to restore order with his daughters, his social life and his career, confronting a world that feels like a farce.
