On 6 January 1975, in a Palermo infant nursery, a male nurse swaps the identification tags of newborns numbered seven and eight. Thirty-one years later, Tommaso, raised as number 7, and Daniele, raised as number 8, meet by chance, forcing them to confront the hidden mix‑up and question the lives they have lived.
