The Dead End Kids escape New York’s East Side slums and wander California’s sunny valleys seeking fast cash. Halop, urged by Grey, finally takes a job on the ranch of kind elderly Italian widow Galli, who treats workers humanely. When Halop pretends to be Galli’s long‑lost son to claim her wealth, he grows to respect her. He then hatches a plan to protect her crops from truckers and a labor union determined to block them from reaching market.
