Maurice, an 18‑year‑old who dreams of becoming a violinist, is pressured by his former‑champion father to inherit a boxing legacy. To toughen him up, the father arranges a meeting with Nora, an aging femme fatale. Their tryst is interrupted when Nora’s jealous husband attacks, and Maurice unintentionally kills him. United by the tragedy, Nora and Maurice fall in love, and Maurice is inspired to embrace his role as a fighter.
