Cletus, a self‑described ‘fabricator’, works as a social worker and is assigned the case of Jorge, a boy taken from his mother. To reunite them, Cletus weaves falsehoods to keep Jorge from being adopted. In the search, he meets a women's advice counsellor and unexpectedly falls for her, complicating his deceptions.
