Nestled on the scenic island of Rügen, the Baltic Sea resort of Göhren faces a conflict between tourism and environmental preservation. A wealthy investor is rapidly developing hotels and accommodations, with approvals easily granted by a small group on the municipal council focused on growth. When a new project threatens a nature reserve, Nadine and her father Bernd decide to challenge the council's decisions. They see the upcoming local election as their only hope to protect their hometown from unwanted development and reclaim control of their village’s future.
