Located in Belgium, the city of Doel is home to twenty-six residents determined to remain in their beloved, fading community. Surrounded by an industrial port and a nuclear power station, Doel has faced ongoing pressure from the government since the 1960s, with repeated attempts to demolish the town to make way for a container park. Though the school, shops, and church have closed, and many homes have been abandoned or destroyed, the remaining residents, both young and old, are steadfast in their fight to preserve their unique home.
