During the opening scene, Mrs. Park circles points in the yearbooks and tells Hur Eun-young that Jin-ju is definitely dead but still attending school. Her blunt, sadistic warning sets a claustrophobic tone for the rest of the tale. The moment hints that the school hides dangerous secrets beneath its polished surface.

Moments after this warning, Mrs. Park is strangled with a noose by an unknown figure, and her body is discovered in the classroom. The murder shocks the students and forces the class to confront the brutal reality behind the school's facade. The killer remains unseen at this point, leaving a chilling mystery unresolved.

Three new senior students—Lim Ji-oh, Yoon Jae-yi, and Kim Jung-sook—discover Mrs. Park's body. The haunting discovery binds them together as they try to make sense of the death and its connection to the school's recent troubles. Their roles as witnesses draw them deeper into the dangerous dynamics of the classroom.

Mr. Oh, the replacement teacher nicknamed Mad Dog, arrives and immediately imposes brutal punishments. He targets the class's top student, So-young, and creates an atmosphere of fear that permeates the school. The students realize the new regime is as deadly as the murder they just witnessed.

Ji-oh paints Mrs. Park's body, a act that provokes Mr. Oh's wrath and earns Ji-oh a severe punishment. The punishment exacerbates Ji-oh's fragile state and pushes her to seek alternative ways to process the trauma through art. This event marks Ji-oh's first direct collision with the case fueling the school's terror.

Seeing Ji-oh punished, Jae-yi, a former artist, agrees to teach her painting in the storeroom rumored to be haunted. So-young is revealed to use the storeroom to hide her smoking habit, making it a sanctuary for secrets. The storeroom becomes the center of their attempts to understand the murder and Jin-ju's elusive presence.

Eun-young suspects Ji-oh may be a ghost, because Ji-oh carries bells that Jin-ju had given her. Ji-oh tells her the bells were given by Jae-yi, not by Jin-ju, which deepens the doubt and confusion. The belief in supernatural interference thickens as the mystery grows.

One night, Mr. Oh is terrorized by Jin-ju and stabbed to death, heightening the sense that past traumas have come back to exact vengeance. The murder reinforces the idea that the living and the dead are entangled in this school. Eun-young and Ji-oh realize the danger is personal and not merely spectral.

The following night, Ji-oh encounters Jung-sook and So-young arguing, ending with So-young storming out. The living tensions between students escalate and blur with the ghostly events circling them. The scene builds toward another fatal turn.

Jung-sook hangs herself in a manner similar to Mrs. Park, deepening the sense of danger that has taken root in the school. Her suicide underscores the pattern of deadly mimicry that drives the mystery. The living world and the ghosts seem to feed off each other.

Ji-oh discovers a bust Eun-young had created for Jin-ju, along with Mr. Oh's body, tying Eun-young's past art to the present carnage. A flashback shows Jin-ju dying in the storeroom when the statue collapses and knives crash down on her. The tragedy is presented as the catalyst that brought Jin-ju back every three years as a false student. The moment clarifies Jin-ju's motive and its link to the haunt.

Eun-young learns from the yearbooks that Jin-ju enters the school every three years as a false student and is currently masquerading as Jae-yi. The revelation reframes the haunting as a repeating cycle rather than a single incident. She and Ji-oh prepare to confront the truth behind Jin-ju's return.

Jin-ju, in the form of Jae-yi, confronts Eun-young; Ji-oh pleads for an end to the bloodshed and asks Jin-ju to rest in peace. The confrontation blends past and present as ghosts and students collide in the classroom. Jin-ju disappears after the promise that they will remember her and avoid repeating the tragedy.

Blood runs down the walls as Eun-young and Ji-oh, exhausted, sit with Ji-oh's head resting in Eun-young's lap. The toll of the haunting is laid bare, and their fragile alliance becomes their only anchor. The next day a student glimpses Jung-sook's ghost in the classroom, confirming the haunting endures.
