Harvard Gold uses the game to drum up business for Religion and draw gold seekers to his enterprise. Dozens of hopefuls arrive, including Waylin Smith with his Apache guide, Raven McCabe the magician, and Bobby Shea the carpenter, each bringing their own skills, secrets, and motives.
