Through diaries of three Italian women—Anita, Teresa and Valentina—the film revisits events from female perspective. It pairs their voices with footage from institutional, public, militant and private sources. The women, from various regions and classes, express alienation from a patriarchal society that expects them to be obedient wives and mothers.
