We Not Naughty

Chen Weijie and Damien Liu Jianren are bright but underappreciated students at the International Technological Polytechnic (ITP). They defy the label of 'dumb' through natural talents in design, technology, engineering, and electronics. Their skills set the stage for a combustible mix of invention and risk.

Damien's personal turmoil drives him toward a local loan-shark gang and he begins running errands for them. In the process, he pulls Weijie into the operation, and their talents are put to work painting, spraying, and issuing threats for the gang.

Weijie's family frictions intensify. His father, Mr. Chen, is a taxi driver and compulsive gambler who struggles to provide. Nicole Chen, academically gifted but pampered, becomes a target of cyberbullying and later faces bullying. These pressures push the siblings toward unstable paths.

CK Liew arrives as the students’ new form teacher and mentor for their multi disciplinary track. He pushes them to apply their skills with real world projects in Design and Technology, STEM, and Electrical/Electronics.

Liew challenges the class to a radio-controlled helicopter race, betting that if he loses he will run nude in front of the entire class. The students accept, and the race becomes a turning point in their relationship.

The students triumph in the helicopter race, and Liew fulfills his outrageous promise. The stunt becomes national news, fueling controversy but also earning respect for the bold teaching approach.

Following the controversy, the school board decides that Liew can continue teaching the program, solidifying mentorship and the program’s momentum for the students’ futures.

One of Weijie and Damien’s inventions ends up in the hands of Boss Ma and a crime network. The criminals intend to use it to carry a large sum of money that is actually drugs.

The team travels to Johor Bahru with Mrs. Liew, Cynthia Phua, and others to use the invention to transport the drugs. Old gang associates betray them and the pursuit closes in near the Singapore–Malaysia border.

During the rush, Mrs. Liew is injured, and the team must press on while Nicole Chen’s perilous situation lingers in the background.

A pivotal moment arrives as Mrs. Liew is delivering a baby; the team helps the midwife-to-be while coordinating with law enforcement to protect everyone. The sequence ties personal stakes to the mission.

The Royal Malaysia Police arrest Boss Ma, Ah Qiang, and the other gang members, bringing the operation to a close. The group heads to the hospital as the wounded heal and the crisis subsides.

CK Liew, Mrs. Liew, and Cynthia Phua recover in hospital care, while Weijie and Damien reflect on how their choices affected their families. The experience reshapes trust, responsibility, and ambition.

Weijie and Damien are celebrated as national heroes for their invention, winning a national science creativity and innovation contest and earning honors from the Singapore Police Force. Their journey shows how creativity can drive accountability and reform.

The film closes on resilience and the enduring power of mentorship, family bonds, and courageous teamwork. The protagonists learn to transform risk into reform and opportunity.
