Three intertwined storylines unfold in a town near Paris. Louis, a divorced café owner, flirts with every woman he meets but develops a genuine affection for Sabine, a prostitute he sees at a hotel. His sister Agnès, a teacher, seems content in her marriage to Jean‑Philippe, yet his long work hours leave her craving affection. She meets Stéphane, a young man who has just returned to town from childhood ties, and becomes obsessed with a nearby young family. The film gradually reveals each character’s hidden desires and asks whether any will find happiness.
