Gilberto Gil joins filmmaker Andrucha Waddington on a journey through Brazil’s Northeast, where they immerse themselves in the rural communities’ Catholic Saint John’s Day celebrations, sharing music, dance and rhythms of the feast. Waddington also documents hardships faced by locals who cling to agriculture on harsh, rugged, unforgiving terrain.
