Valentin Plavec, a diligent yet gullible insurance clerk, is constantly teased by coworkers Bejšovec and Voborník. Their latest prank convinces him he has won the lottery by adding a “1” to the winning number 8456, prompting him to withdraw his entire twenty‑thousand‑koruna savings, saved with his fiancée Helena, to claim the prize. When the joke is exposed, only Helena stays by his side, helping him reverse the rash deposits and agreements. Angered, Valentin decides to exact revenge on the two pranksters.
