Uncle Marin, the Billionaire

Two criminals hijack a plane, kidnapping a young woman and taking control of the flight. They parachute out with the hostage and hand her over to a gang of criminals waiting below. The gangsters then murder the two kidnappers, clearing the way for their own ransom plot.

In a swanky Black Sea resort, Gogu informs his uncle Marin that he can sneak him into the hotel where an American billionaire is due to arrive. Marin, an Oltenian peasant, is astonished by the revealing clothing at the resort and by the gadgets around the hotel. The guests are amused by Marin's rustic costume as plans for the kidnapping unfold.

Mr. Juvett, the father of the kidnapped girl, arrives at the hotel carrying a suitcase with the ransom. The surrounding criminals learn of his arrival and a rival gang plots to steal the money. They begin to follow Marin, mistaking him for Juvett due to their identical appearances.

The real Juvett and Marin repeatedly exchange suitcases, each believing the other to be the thief. The two suitcases—one containing the ransom, the other a mundane supply—look identical, triggering a series of farcical misunderstandings. The criminals observe the swaps and start plotting how to seize the money.

Samantha, Juvett's daughter, escapes from the kidnapper's grip and begins wandering the hotel to locate her father amid the confusion. Her escape ratchets up the tension as multiple factions scramble for control of the ransom. She moves through corridors that are thick with schemes and suspicion.

A mysterious American guest who resembles Lt. Columbo observes the chaos from a distance, quietly taking in every twist. He seems to be assessing the players and the true identity of the ransom misdirection. His calm presence frames the events with a sly sense of inevitability.

Veta and Marin are captured by the assailants but manage to incapacitate their captors by drinking them under the table.
