Set in Dublin on June 16, 1904, the film follows young poet Stephen Dedalus as he drifts through the city, forming an unexpected bond with Leopold Bloom, a middle‑aged Jewish advertising canvasser. Bloom’s day includes a funeral, an evening of drinking that awakens a paternal feeling toward Stephen, and ends with a tender reconciliation with his earthy wife, Molly.
