When rock ’n’ roll arrives in a Prekmurje village, country boy Breza hopes to play his electric guitar at the local feast, but faces stiff competition from a traditional Roma folk band. His music wins the heart of Silvija, the beautiful daughter of a Swiss‑working expatriate, yet the narrative soon follows eccentric outsider Düplin, a deaf‑mute drifter described by the farm‑owner fortune‑teller as “a lad from a citrus‑producing country.”
