Doubravka, a psychologist, returns to a cottage where her boyfriend Boba, a struggling medical student, prepares for remedial exams. She meets Honza Macháček, a village tractor driver who, after losing his licence in a bet, now tends a herd of cows. Honza’s optimism starkly contrasts Boba’s selfishness, leading Doubravka to realize she loves Honza. The film follows her conflicted feelings and her conservative family’s reaction.
