Torchy Blane.. Playing with Dynamite

Torchy Blane covers a bank robbery committed by Denver Eddie for her newspaper. Returning to the newsroom, she is stopped for speeding and taken to court because she doesn't have her driver's license.

In court, Torchy meets Jackie McGuire, Denver Eddie's girlfriend who has been jailed for shoplifting. After Steve McBride identifies Torchy to the authorities, she is released.

Torchy asks Steve to put her back in jail so she can befriend Jackie and get a lead on Eddie. She believes gaining access to Jackie inside the jail will provide the information she needs.

Inside the jail, Torchy befriends Jackie. When another prisoner tries to stab Jackie, Torchy helps subdue the attacker.

Jackie suggests that she and Torchy escape together. Steve agrees to cooperate because the reward money for Eddie's capture will enable them to marry.

Torchy and Jackie escape from jail with Steve and the plan heads toward San Francisco, where Jackie is meeting her boyfriend. Steve and his assistant Gahagan follow.

Steve decides not to notify local police of Eddie's expected arrival. He hopes to capture Eddie and use the $5,000 reward as a down payment for a house for him and Torchy.

San Francisco policeman Jim Simmons follows them, but Steve convinces him that Gahagan is a wrestler and that he is his manager. This helps them evade immediate trouble.

Torchy signals Eddie's arrival by hanging stockings on the fire escape. Gahagan bursts in with Jackie to find Eddie has not arrived yet, and Torchy quickly makes up a story to explain their presence.

When Eddie arrives, one of his men recognizes Steve as a policeman but pretends that Steve is another criminal. The ruse adds confusion to the plan.

Steve invites Eddie to join him in robbing the wrestling stadium. Eddie agrees but arranges for his men to kidnap Steve on the way.

At the wrestling arena, another reporter recognizes Torchy and reveals her identity. This revelation heightens the tension as Eddie's men react to the news.

Steve hurries to the arena as Gahagan, posing as a wrestler named Harry the Horse, crashes into Eddie's escape attempt. Eddie is knocked down, and Steve and Gahagan are credited with the arrest, allowing Torchy and Steve to marry.
