The anthology consists of three unrelated segments. In “The Last Hand,” Morty survives a heart attack and joins his regular poker game, only to see the man he shot appear mysteriously alive, pushing Morty into agitation and hallucinations. “The Final Hour” follows a convicted murderer in the year 2213 being escorted to a trial, where he forms a bond with the ship’s pilot. The final segment, “Fanatical Extreme,” condenses the 1982 film The Last Horror Film, depicting taxi driver Joe Spinell’s obsessive attempt to make a horror movie with his idol, who is far from welcoming.
