Pure heroin is scarce in northern Paris, sparking drugstore raids and violent clashes among gangs—the Viets, Blackies, Arabs, neo‑Nazis “Justiciers” and hostile homophobes. Vincent (Daniel Auteuil), an ex‑Marseilles gangster turned cop, mixes a gentle style with ruthless force and sharp dialogue. With help from l’Arbalète (Marisa Berenson), a former gang‑linked prostitute, he seeks order while a hard‑line, racist veteran officer (Marcel Bozzuffi) adds tension.
