An ominous vessel embarks on a perilous voyage through hostile natural and supernatural forces, leaving only one survivor. The film adapts Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” using wood‑engravings scratched onto color filmstock. Its ecological redemption feels modern, and mythic scope mirrors each individual's struggles.
