The film shows a collective decision to abandon the market economy and high productivity for a utopian pause. Citizens adopt resolutions like “We stop everything,” later reluctantly reviving services—water, electricity, radio messages—when scarcity becomes intolerable. The first day marks “Year 01,” echoing 1970s concerns about ecology, anti‑authority, free love, communal living, and rejecting private property and labor.
