A 1965 BBC adaptation of Shakespeare’s historical tetralogy — 1 Henry VI, 2 Henry VI, 3 Henry VI and Richard III — dramatizes the struggle between the Houses of Lancaster and York for England’s throne, known as the Wars of the Roses. It stems from John Barton’s 1963 stage version and was directed by Peter Hall for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
