She contacts Dr. Linager, who claims to run a facility for “expensive children.” The price is no issue, so she brings Winnie. Dr. Linager, a veterinarian expecting to care for a Siamese cat, is surprised to find a lively little girl, but the household quickly embraces the charming Winnie.
