With Peter Luff’s departure, new fundraiser Peter Walker teamed with producer Martin Lewis to redesign the event for greater revenue and awareness. Lewis suggested adding contemporary rock acts; John Cleese assigned him that task, leading to the recruitment of The Who’s guitarist Pete Townshend and New‑Wave singer‑songwriter Tom Robinson.
