A nightmarish descent from the creator of Re‑Animator, set during the Spanish Inquisition. Maria, a kind‑hearted woman, is arrested as a witch after screaming at a child's public whipping. Husband Antonio tries to save her, while Torquemada, Inquisitor, vows torture, fueled by twisted desire. Loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic story.
