Ilonka and Kevin seem to perceive these spectral presences more clearly than the others, suggesting that their belief or subconscious desire to believe in something beyond the physical realm allows them to see these spirits. The mysterious figures of Stanley Oscar and Vera Freelan may not have truly passed on but are still bound to the estate, possibly as the cult’s dark legacy or as part of a bigger, ongoing ritual. Ultimately, the ending keeps viewers questioning whether true salvation is possible or if some supernatural cycle is destined to repeat infinitely—highlighting the mysterious, often insidious power of death, dreams, and faith.
