As usual, Egon devises an elaborate scheme that seems to work perfectly, until a comical blunder by one of his fellow gang members derails it. The fiasco catches the eye of ruthless international criminals, who resolve to eliminate Egon by dumping him into a vat of acid, placing his life in grave danger.
