The film probes globalization myths that pervade language—‘thinking globally’ and the ‘global economy’—suggesting a borderless world. Pilger’s 2001 documentary uses Indonesia, praised by the World Bank before its 1998 crisis, to show how investment choices in London or Tokyo can create jobs or cause unemployment, exposing human cost of policies.
