American physicist Dr. Frank Smith is summoned to Britain to assist the CIA in debriefing a defecting scientist from the Eastern Bloc. His involvement provokes Soviet agents, who frame him for murder, plunging him into a deadly espionage trap as Cold War tensions rise.
