The Loves of Hercules

The story takes place in the mythic kingdom of Ecalia, a war-torn realm of political intrigue and martial power. It also includes the Amazon realm led by Queen Hippolyta, as well as the Underworld where monsters lurk and prophecies loom.

Deianira is the daughter of the king and Hercules's beloved. She embodies courage and loyalty, offering her life to spare Ecalia. Her steadfastness helps clear Hercules's name and she becomes central to the themes of mercy and justice.

Hippolyta is the Queen of the Amazons, a powerful ruler who commands loyalty and wields magical influence. She aids Hercules throughout the story and at one point uses magical disguise to imitate Deianira, adding complexity to the themes of love and loyalty.

Licos engineers a political trap to seize the throne, using murder and deception to destabilize the realm. He attempts to frame Hercules for the king's death and remove him as a rival for Deianira's hand, with betrayals rippling through palace and battlefield.
