An old house stands isolated amongst newer buildings, seemingly forgotten. Fortune teller Tamako has resided there with her son, Tadao, for years. Tadao has intellectual disabilities and autism, leading to occasional behavioral issues that concern their neighbors. When a room opens at a group home connected to Tadao’s community workshop, Tamako considers a significant change: allowing him to live independently from her. Although the residents at the group home also have intellectual disabilities, it offers Tadao a chance to build a more independent life, but adjusting to the new environment proves challenging.
