Estimates suggest fewer than ten of the 500,000 active male football professionals worldwide are openly homosexual, highlighting a stark taboo within the sport. This documentary explores the experiences of those who have challenged this unspoken rule, sharing their personal journeys alongside former professional Thomas Hitzlsperger. It examines the story of Justin Fashanu, who broke the taboo in 1990 and faced tragic consequences, as told by his niece. The film also features Marcus Urban, who faced a difficult choice regarding his career aspirations, and the stories of US professional Collin Martin and British player-coach Matt Morton, offering insights into navigating this complex issue.
