In the new railroad town of Laraville, Wyoming, the film depicts the 1869 adoption of women’s suffrage. Jim Cork manipulates land sales to control the town, but Quaker teacher Annie Morgan wins a key lot. His lawyer Steve Lewis courts her, but her independence thwarts his scheme, forcing him to face the rise of feminism and regret his actions.
