After the Vietnam War, former soldier Nguyen Dich (Chow Yun‑Fat) arrives in Hong Kong and works as a contract killer for a gang boss. He meets Vicky Lee (Rosamund Kwan) and falls in love, but his superiors order him to kill her father. When Vicky suspects him, the gang orders her death too, and she discovers he caused her father's murder, leading to a deadly confrontation.
