In late 1930‑31, architect Henryk Zaremba’s daughter is found dead in her bedroom, clearly killed with a pickaxe. Police focus on Rita Gorgonova, the governess and Zaremba’s lover, who becomes the main suspect. Based on Poland’s infamous murder case, the film recreates the investigation and courtroom drama, a historically accurate, gripping thriller.
