Haunted by the dark shadows of his past, Christopher makes a difficult decision to return to his old, hardscrabble neighborhood, hoping to carve out a new and honest existence. However, even if he possessed the strength of a saint, resisting the temptations surrounding him proves to be an uphill battle. Almost immediately upon his return, a homeless street preacher unleashes prophetic threats of damnation, forcing Chris to confront the unrelenting legacy of his former life.

Before he can even take a sip of his first beer, his former accomplice in crime reintroduces him to the criminal underworld, inviting him back into the dangerous fold of the local crime boss. Compounding his struggles, the enduring rage and bitterness of his father flood back, further tainting his homecoming with painful reminders of their fractured relationship, marked by alienation, rejection, and feelings of inadequacy.

Despite the loving presence of his mother and the comforting embrace of his Irish grandmother, their support proves insufficient as he grapples with the heavy burden of his father’s judgment and his own self-loathing. Chris seeks redemption by attempting to regain the trust of his ex-girlfriend and longing for a relationship with his daughter, who has no knowledge of him.

Turning to faith, he returns to the church, lighting candles in hopes of Divine guidance. In a surprising twist of fate, he finds work washing dishes at the local diner, where a kind-hearted owner offers him a glimpse of a fresh start and the possibility of love. Yet, as his hopes begin to soar, the relentless forces of his past loom larger, threatening to crush his aspirations. Ultimately, as he stands in the striking light streaming through the church’s front door, “Saint” Christopher is faced with a critical choice: to pursue the path of redemption or to embrace destruction.
