The God Committee

As Boxer’s health worsens, he finally agrees to a transplant, recognizing that human judgment is inherently flawed and that sometimes decisions must be made beyond moral clarity. He is flown to Turkey for surgery, but tragically dies en route, overwhelmed by remorse. After his death, Jordan continues Boxer’s work, and the final scene shows a pig’s heart successfully beating in a monkey, symbolizing hope for a future where such moral dilemmas and limitations can be overcome. The ending underscores the ambiguity of moral decisions in medicine and highlights that even the most noble intentions can come with tragic consequences, leaving viewers to ponder whether the end justifies the means.
