Paul sends an urgent message to Kay and prepares to depart, but is confronted by the possessed Aranjo, who delivers a fatal stabbing. Kay’s pursuit of answers leads her to a local medicine man, Ocacio [Frank Salsedo], whose wary agreement to assist requires a visit to the dig site. Back in the museum, Kay discovers Paul’s corpse and comes face-to-face with a knife-wielding Aranjo, who is driven not by malice alone but by a desire to use Kay’s body as a vessel for Melissa’s spirit. The tension escalates as Ocacio and Tom orchestrate a plan to stop Aranjo’s control by handling the Kachina doll, which plays a critical role in weakening the possession. A tense sequence unfolds at the desert road and at the museum’s laboratory, culminating in a dramatic confrontation around a fire where the ritual objects and the possessed bodies collide. When Ocacio sacrifices himself to drop the Kachina doll into the flames, Aranjo’s body bursts into flames, seemingly breaking the shackle of Nahalla’s resurgence.
