Sue Graham, a small‑town girl longing for stardom, lands a studio contract by mistake when a photo of a glamorous actress is sent instead of hers. In Hollywood the error is discovered, and she is placed in the studio’s props department. Her parents travel to California and, trusting a shady investor, put their savings at risk.
