The Edge

Charles Morse, along with his wife Mickey and two companions, Bob and Stephen, arrives at a remote lodge in North America. They are the only guests at the lodge, where they plan to enjoy a birthday celebration for Charles and carry out a photo shoot.

The group celebrates Charles's birthday in the lodge. Mickey presents Charles with an engraved pocket watch while Bob gives him an expensive hunting knife, symbolizing their friendship and bond.

During the celebrations, Charles becomes suspicious of Bob and Mickey's relationship after witnessing Bob kiss Mickey on the cheek. Intrigued yet disturbed, he cryptically questions Bob about his intentions toward him.

Bob invites Charles and Stephen to fly to a different location after his male model becomes ill. This trip takes a dark turn when their plane suddenly encounters a flock of birds and crashes into a lake.

The crash claims the life of the pilot, leaving Charles, Bob, and Stephen stranded and forced to swim to shore. They realize they are lost and must navigate their way through a treacherous wilderness.

As night falls, the trio discovers they are being stalked by a Kodiak Bear. They manage to evade it temporarily but are haunted by the danger that lurks around them.

The bear attacks their camp during the night, resulting in Stephen's tragic death. This incident heightens the tension between Charles and Bob as they confront the harsh reality of their situation.

Despite his lack of outdoor skills, Charles utilizes his extensive survival knowledge to navigate their desperate circumstances. He and Bob begin to bond as they work together to stay alive.

In a dramatic encounter, the bear finds Charles and Bob. In a fierce struggle on a riverbed, Charles manages to impale the bear with a hand-carved spear, saving both their lives in a moment of intense desperation.

The two survivors discover an empty hunters' cabin filled with supplies, including a rifle and a canoe. While preparing to survive, Charles finds a receipt revealing that Mickey had bought Bob a wristwatch with an intimate engraving, confirming his suspicions of their affair.

After confronting Bob about the betrayal, a confrontation leads to Bob being mortally wounded in a 'deadfall' pit. Charles chooses to help him and they travel downriver together, hoping for rescue.

While waiting for rescue, Bob apologizes to Charles, admitting to his betrayal but clarifying that Mickey was never involved in any murder plot. This final exchange reveals the complexities of their relationships in dire circumstances.

A rescue helicopter finally appears, spotting the pair on the riverbank. However, Bob succumbs to his injuries before the helicopter can land, leaving Charles to confront the tragedy of their situation alone.

Back at the lodge, Charles hands Bob's watch to Mickey, signaling his awareness of her affair with Bob. He addresses the press, stating that his friends died heroically, thereby burying the truth.

In the aftermath, Charles is left to process the loss of his friends and the betrayal of his wife. The public narrative he creates allows him to maintain his stature while concealing the darker truths of their relationships.
