Butch and Toby, two hapless crooks, masquerade as priests to stay one step ahead of African authorities. Their assignment is to escort a Virgin Mary statue from Africa to Amsterdam, unaware that the crate actually contains smuggled diamonds. Their blundering flight draws the attention of a similarly inept gang of mobsters who give relentless, comedic chase.
